Where does the water go BEFORE an inundating tsunami occurs? Most surviving accounts of tsunami observations describe a "strange phenomenon" of all the water on the seashore suddenly "disappearing" before the "tidal wave" hits and destroys everything. I know that tsunamis are created by underwater earthquakes, or sismic shifts, but WHERE does all that water go ?
