TODAY, 30th OCTOBER,
DIEGO ARMANDO MARADONA HAS HIS BIRTHDAY. IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHO HE IS, I TELL YOU: HE IS THE BEST FOOTBALL(i mean soccer) PLAYER, HE IS ARGENTINIAN, HE MADE THE WORLD CUP'S BEST GOAL TO ENGLAND IN THE '86 WORLD CUP IN MEXICO, HE ALSO MADE THE "HAND OF GOD" IN THAT GAME, HE PLAYED IN MY FAVOURITE ARGENTINIAN FOOTBALL TEAM(BOCA JUNIORS), HE ALSO HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH DRUGS, BUT HE IS FINE NOW....HE IS ONE OF MY IDOLS!!!!!
GRANDE DIEGOOOOO!!!!!!

HE MADE THE WORLD CUP'S BEST GOAL TO ENGLAND IN THE '89 WORLD CUP IN MEXICO
Hello ElPelado, I don't know if it's just a typo, but it was during the 1986 world cup in Mexico.
Yeh, I've got to agree with you that he was a fine player, probably the best in the world in his time, but maybe not the best of all time, maybe Pele was better?
His goal against us (England) is a classic but it's a pity about the 'hand of God goal' though, and Gary Lineker was sooooooo close to getting an equaliser in that game!
How old is Maradona now?
Is that Maradona's number 10 shirt, that your planet Marado is wearing!!!??
regards
TERRIER

Yes, it was my mistake, it was on 1986...
And about if he is the best or pele, I obviously will say he is the one, but some time ago the FIFA made a survey in teh internet to know what people think, and Maradona won by a big difference, but just because he is from Argentina and in many places, people dont like us, they said they both won and they gave a price to both of them...
I dont remember exactly how old is he, but I think he is 43 or some thing like that.
And about the planet: the
blue-
yellow-
blue are the colors of the team Boca Juniors. And when he played(in all the teams he played) he used the number 10. Thats why i made the planet look like that...

I guess that Boca Juniors are still a good team, even without the services of Maradona?
However my favourite team, Huddersfield Town nearly went out of business a few months ago and are in the doldrums. They were relegated to the English 3rd division last season and have today experienced one of the worst days in the clubs history, losing to non-league Accrington Stanley in the first round of the FA cup. To make matters worse, the match has been shown live on BBC1 television.
Dark days indeed for the Terriers
(Written 1 week later)- Ha Ha , we've just beaten the league leaders, Hull City 3-1, what a difference a week makes

I have heard on the news today that Maradona has been admitted to hospital in a critical condition
Do you have any more info, ElPelado ?
Posted: 20.04.2004, 11:04
by ElPelado
Yes, I have info, but in spanish. I will try to translate some of the things...
First of all, it isnt related to drugs.
He has a problem in his heart and I think that in the lungs too.
The doctors last night told that he is doing better now in its cardiac and respiratory crisis. But they say that its state still is delicate.
He had to use an artificial respirator breathe because he was sedated.
He was in a stadium watching a soccer game and after it he started to feel bad. He called his doctor and then they went to the hospital and his doctor with some others decided to tell him to stay in the hospital.
This is what his doctor said:
Maradona was taken to intensive therapy with a bilateral pulmonary infection that caused hypertension, which also affected its heart, revealed his personal doctor, Alfredo Cahe, that admitted in addition that he was worried from Saturday at night: "Diego cooled off, and I didn't like how his health was looking, but I posponed for Sunday the decision to take it to the hospital. Yesterday, when returning to check him, I found it soaked, with nauseas and vomits, and an important hypertension. And, after first aid, I put him in an ambulance and I immediately took him to the hospital.
Maradona, according to his doctor, had been playing golf in the cold of the night. And after that, in the way from General Rodriguez to the clinic, Maradona inhaled vomit and that complicated his pulmonary situation.
Diego was not consuming cocaine lately, since he controlled his addiction.
Yesterday, the doctor didnt know if his hart will make it trough the night, but today his conditions is much more better and they think that, thanks God, he will make it.
The most difficult thing to believe is that in the whole world every news program or news paper talked about him and his problem. Here you have a list of some of the many countries in which newspaperes talked about him: Spain, England, Italy, France, Mexico, Germany, Cuba, Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay, Peru, USA, Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Portugal, Canada, Switzerland, South Africa, Australia, India and more...

Feliz cumple Diego Armando

Ah ha, the 30th October is also the birthday of Huddersfield Town goalkeeper Phil Senior, who is 22 today.
It was his error, or should I say lack of height, that helped to concede the winning goal by Accrington Stanley in our embarrassing defeat to them last year. He came on as a late substitute after our other goalie (Ian Gray) broke his hand!
He's just got back into the first team, after a certain Mr Gray made a few blunders recently.
El Pelado, so you were born on halloween, does this give you an excuse to have two parties tomorrow ?

Ah ha, then Halloween is not celebrated so much in your country then? Here in the UK it is becoming more popular, but still not as popular as one of our main days for celebration, which falls very close to Halloween, on November 5th. It is Guy Fawkes night, or as it has become better known these days as Bonfire night.
A large proportion of our population celebrate (by setting off fireworks), the capture and subsequent execution of Guy Fawkes. The man entrusted by ringleader Robert Catesby to plant explosives in the old parliament buildings in London in 1605. It was an attempt to assassinate King James 1st.
Any way back to soccer, I am wondering when the Argentinian football season starts and finishes, because it seems to be shown on British television all year long !
Here are the listings for the next 2 weeks on UK television;

Thanks praesepe! I am 20, no longer a teenager...
Maybe someone can make a 3ds of those to put in Celestia, just for fun...
TERRIER: The Argentinian league is divided in two, so you have two tournaments a year. and thats why you see so much on tv... In each tournament you have only 19 games. And this last months Boca hasnt been doing as well as last 4 years so maybe you wont hear as much as you said... or maybe you will hear how bad Boca and River(the other important team there, and the one I hate
) are doing...
Here Halloween is not celebrated at all... its no that some people do celebrate and some other dont, nobody celebrates it...

Ok, first of all, Chocolate Box sounds very very funny. The real name of the satudiom is La Bombonera...
Remember that there are only 6 games left, and remember that in this last couple of motnhs Boca hasnt been playing so good, so, yes, it still has chanses, but it will be very very hard because we have 4 teams above, not only one... I dont really think we can still win... But I hope river doesnt win neither...
Regarding Arsenal, in spanish its not pronounced like in english. You say
Arsenal, and we say arsen
Al... its a small team... a couple of years ago it was in the second league...
Very nice the picture with the UFO above Argentina... Thanks...

Arsenal are the reigning champions of England, and for the first time ever, went a whole 38 game season unbeaten. But today they are off the top of the league
. Huddersfiled Town had their record attendance of 67,032 versus Arsenal, I was wondering what it is for Boca Juniors, I guess it would be a similar figure ??
I noticed on that website
http://www.argentinesoccer.com/team.cfm?team=boc , that Boca have two nicknames, is the second one correct ?
Surely this must be a name given to them by River Plate ?

I actually based the orbit of the UFO on a satellite called TERRIERS !!!!

I dont know how many people can get in the stadium, because more than half of it is for standing people. There are only a few stadiums in Argentina in which all the people are sitting. Besides that, its more fun in the standing part, you sing with the rest of the people and you enjoy the game in a different way...
Xeneises is the newer of the two. And it doesnt mean anything. Its like "the people from Xenia", but it is nothing at all.(and it is prononuced Sheneises).
Bosteros may be an ugly nickname, but we love it. Most of our songs have that word, and we are proud of beeing Bosteros. Many songs start: "Bostero soy..."(Bostero I am), or "yoooo soy bostero"(IIIIII am bostero), and like that...
But maybe what you dont know is that Ri#er has also another nickname, Gallinas(chikens), we call them gallinas, but they dont call themselves like that. They realy hate that nickname. Besides that, most of thei songs are agains us, instead of songs about how much the love their team... In Boca we have songs of al kinds... agains them, but also showing that we really love Boca, no matter what happens in the games. One songs sais:"Aunque ganes o pierdas, no me importa una mierda, sigo siendo bostero, porque a boca lo quiero!"(Even if you win or even if you loose, I dont give a sh*t, I am still bostero, cause I love boca!).
Some people say:
Boca's fans love Boca and hate ri#er.
ri#er's fans hate Boca and love ri#er.
The site you names here is not updated, the stadium changed its name to "Alberto J. Armando".

BTW: If you want I can upload almost 20 short Boca song that I have and you will more or less understand what it is like in a game in the Bombonera...
