Yes. Rain, too, creating rainbows.

Precipitation can fall from relatively small clouds when most of the sky is clear.

Sure, lots of times. I wish I had a scanner, I'd post a picture I took in Yosemite National Park of it doing exactly that.

Some day back in the 80's I was camping in the Sierra's and went to sleep expecting a sunny day in the morning. I woke to the sound of thunder and looked out but couldn't see. Everything was white. 4 inches of snow fell in 5 minutes. But then it got sunny. This place had snow plow markers that were 20 feet high.

On the day in question, the reason I posted this, there were no clouds. Only sun and snow. Where it came from was beyond me. I guess there was a snow shower over the horizon and the wind blew it to my position.
