Very, very interesting to note that most of the world agrees with you Good Doctor.
Let's hope this spirit was not just a political animation for naught. Methinks this
is a very good thing.

We will see.

Bob,

to us Europeans the historical fact appears very impressive that -- in times of crisis-- the american people have always been able to reorient themselves and to initiate a fresh start.

Seen in terms of percentages, the victory of 52/46 % does appear much less of a "landslide", though... So there have been still 46% = 55,615,968 american voters for whom the winner's profile appeared too "progressive".

Well, at the risk of having Selden throw us both off of the board for expressing opinions which have absolutely
nothing to do with Celestia, I still think that this is a good thing, regardless of the numbers. Again, we will see.

I certainly hope that we have set a new direction for this bloated (and mostly corrupt) country though.
I'll shut up now. :)

I "love" this kind of thinking: progressive, wise left side and "still not progressive", dumb conservatives from the right side. :?

Like on this caricature:

speech balloon: "My husband is a conservative"

Sorry, Selden. Shutting up now.

I'm sorry, guys, but I'm going to have to lock the topic.

MFN1444's post in particular is much too easily misunderstood.
I have some conservative friends who would find it quite insulting,
so I suspect there are some reading this who would feel the same way.

Calmly talking about the issues is one thing.
Seeming to insult people, no matter what the reason, is not acceptable.
