The author has kind words to say about Celestia :)

Odd. I DLed the Medium Resolution one and installed it through the .exe, but when I open up my Display Properites and go to the Screen Saver tab, it's not on the list of available screensavers. :(

Odd.

I downloaded and ran the "standard install package" and it worked fine for me.

The screensavers are in alphabetical order, so it's listed with the other 3D screensavers as
3D Solar System (OpenGL)
It's after 3D Pipes and before 3D Text.

p.s.
I have my screen refresh rate set at 60 Hz and it has no trouble running at that rate. It shows the FPS in the lower left corner.

p.p.s.
The "medium resolution" download is only textures. You have to download the "standard install package" first, then the appropriate texture pack.

Ah ha! That's what I did wrong. I didn't DL the Standard Install Package 1st. Please forgive me, I'm blonde ^^;

Blah... Have I mentioned that I hate my PC? It seems that the screensaver will not run when I have the monitor running off the onboard video enabled. When I disable it, it runs, although rather slowly. I looked for an option to make the screensaver only run on one monitor, but I didn't see any.

*sigh* Someday I'll own a good PC that can run stuff like this with ease. I'm actually saving money to build a kickass PC from scratch. AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+, 2 GB of RAM, NVidia GeForce 7900GT, I can't wait ^^!
