Since you are distributing these hard-to-understand "---" messages in various boards, how about a translation? ;-)

Of course the encoding/decoding of morse via the computer in ham radio applications is nothing new... and still a reliable fall-back during emergency crisis. Many old-time ham operators feel it a bad thing that the morse requirement was recently removed from obtaining a ham license... and they might be very right in their thinking about that.

Anyone who doubts the value and validity of ham radio operators should take a close look at the communications evaluations reports which came about since the hurricane Katrina disaster. If it weren't for ham operators, there would have been no communications at all (zero) at times when it was needed most. The National Guard, FEMA, state, and local municipalites all failed in keeping communications open and clear... all of them, all except the amateur ham operators.

I get it now, Cham. The reason why I was wasting my time with such meaningless sentence was because this is a morse code forum. I couldn't understand it because I didn't read the manual for morse coding. I should have put my noggin where it belongs.
