Thanks! I had heard a while back that his ashes were destined for space, but didn't know much more than that. Now I do, so thanks for the info and link!

The original STAR TREK tv series was the best. I'm not sure if I would want Scotty working on my car's engine (telling me he can't fix it because "he can't change the law of physics" :lol:

), or Dr. McCoy checking my pulse("he's dead, Jim!"), and so on.

Anyone remember the epsisode "The Doomsday machine", with Commodore Decker? If so, would you ever consider letting Commodore Decker drive your car????

Haha. Wrecking one starship wasn't good enough, so he had to try and wreck another, then wreck a shuttlecraft. :O

Haha! Remember the scene where Decker is piloting the shuttle into the doomsday machine, and his look of terror in the blinding light? That might make a good advertisement for tinted windows or blinds

Hmmmmm. Well, the M5"must survive", according to Dr Daystrom. Kirk simply gave orders where to drive. But Decker, had qualities besides piloting. If earth ever got hit by a major asteroid, he could rely on his other classic line (modified) "I beamed my entire crew down to the planet" There used to be a planet there, but "not any more...

Wheras Kirk usually crawled around the galaxy at warp 1 (in which case, his five year mission should have gotten him maybe as far as Tau Ceti and back again, w00t!), and Decker liked crashing his ship into things (seems to be something with the older Captains, Picard for example (ST: Nemesis)), the M5 was the perfect navigational tool, though flawed, it was good at navigating.

Ride with Kirk, and have to go into stasis for months to not get bored out of your mind while going to your destination,

Ride with Decker, and risk becomming involved in crater formation,

Or ride with M5, and hang on and watch in amazement as your ship single-handedly blows to peices all those around you! =D

That's great! I can't top that one. Well, how about this: If Commodore Decker had a twin brother, and they both were crashing their ship, would it be called a "double-Decker"?
