Looking for good space artist impressions

Post #1by Event Horizon » 25.10.2006, 18:26

Hi,

Wasn't sure I could post this in the Physics forum, so I'll post it here.

I'm looking for sites with good artist impressions of space, planets, etcetera. Both realistic ones and fantastic ones. As long as you think they are good!

Best,

E.H.

I really can recommend the artwork of the late John Whatmough; his planet images (a few based on Celestia images, I believe) are really state-of-the-art artist's impressions of real extrasolar planets. Check out this lot:

They're beautiful! Thank you.

You say 'late' Jim Whatmough. Did he pass away?

Yes, unfortunately so.
See this thread:

(note; his name was John; a typo on my part).
