New Monitor Brag

Post #1by Tech Sgt. Chen » 01.12.2005, 16:39

OK,
I can't help myself and, since I don't normally buy myself anything new (yes, I have a lot of very old things - I usually use things till they are completely worn out), I bought a 19 inch, flat panel, LCD monitor with DVI!!! :D
It has 1280 X 1024 resolution, Response Time/12 ms, Contrast Ratio/500:1 and integrated speakers (which I don't use). Celestia never looked better! My old CRT was shot and I must've burned something out. The colors and gamma were totally gone. With the Digital Input, Celestia looks more lifelike than ever before! Almost like viewing actual video or photos in space. Details are crisp and very defined, almost like having a whole, new, improved version of Celestia.
I usually get a guilt complex after such an expenditure but, I'll be hard pressed to feel any guilt this time! What a view! I wasn't even experiencing the full potential of my graphics card on the CRT but, now with the DVI, WOW! :o
I can't wait to get back to work on all my texture projects (I always have too many in progress at the same time).
Hi guys. Listen, they're telling me the uh,
generators won't take it, the ship is breaking apart and all that. Just, FYI.

I know the feeling. I too recently got a vastly improved computer system (thanks to my old one going on the fritz). Yep, I have four projects going on at once, one a collaboration with another user, and three independent projects of my own. At any rate, have fun! Later!
