Traffic increase

Post #2by joe blow » 06.10.2004, 07:32

I found Shatters through the discover article. I was wondering how much extra traffic the site has received since it came out. I know I've been here ever since.

Me Too!! I had never heard of this software/site before I read that article... Ever since I have been in download heaven playing around with this software... still a bit new at putting in new textures etc but learning slowly..

I am quite impressed with this software so far and its potential.... that was a good bit of advertising for sure...

Discover is also how I learned of Celestia. I'm a SuSE Linux user at home, and am looking forward to loading and using this software. Been something of an astronomy geek since the sixties, too, and briefly taught astronomy in high school. I've been frustrated in trying to explain some astronomical concepts (planetary and lunar orbits and resulting phases) to my wife the computer geek, who is a genius in every way but 3-D visualization, so I'm hoping to get some assistance here.

Well, if you look at the opening page, you'll see that the
most EVER users on this forum was 67 on December 24th.

Don't remember what the previous record was, but it was far
less than 67, I can assure you.

EDIT: Now, Friday December 31st, the record is currently at 318 users.

Boy, THERE goes the neighborhood...

Take care, Bob

I found Celestia via the Discover Magazine article too...

I found out about Celestia via the Discover Magazine article too... while reading myself to sleep around 2:30 in the morning. When I read the article, I was wide awake again and making my way toward my computer (again).
Ive used Redshift and Redshift 3, as well as Starry Nite software before, but THIS - this is the best I've seen out there! I've just now registered here moments ago, and I'm looking forward to exploring the many universes with all of you! Thanks - and Happy Holidays :!: -Kris
