I could use a little help...

On July 5, I was involved in a serious accident. The girl who ran into me was hysterical, apologizing that she had not been paying attention until she ran into me (or at least .0005 sec before impact.) My dilemma is this...The state of Ohio has no state law making texting and driving illegal, so the highway patrol didn't check her phone records. (Texting while driving is illegal in only a few cities in Ohio, but a bill is in the works.) I have no way of knowing if that is what she was doing, but I can think of nothing else that would distract someone to such a degree. She ran into me at 56 mph. Totaled my car, and very nearly killed me.

Any help regarding any advocacy groups who could help me find this info would be greatly appreciated.

Imagine what fun *I* have while riding either one of my Harleys in Ohio.
I have very nearly been killed on eight different occasions because
people were using a cell phone, or just not paying attention while
driving. They like to run red lights, text and/or use a cell phone while driving,
or just plain don't see things on the road because they are preoccupied with
other things.

. Neither cell-phone calling and driving is illegal? IMHO, texting should be equivalent to a call, when sent. If the text has not yet been sent, then the law is not enough against people's stupidity.
