Chris,

Saturn is a technical supermarket chain in Germany. Their slogan is

"We hate expensive".

The theme of that video is "The evolution of machines" .. in analogy to what happened with living animals ==> The stronger one kills and eats the weaker one (here they allude to what happens among technical warehouses).

Towards the end of this "techno selection" sequence the voice says : The evolution was tough, but now it has taken place. Then that robot girls appears and says :

"SATURN, we hate expensive!"

Thanks for the explanation, Fridger. Without knowing any German, that ad was completely opaque to me :)

How about learning some German, French, Spanish ? ;-)
With Obama: Yes we can!

Fridger

PS: more seriously, even knowing some German, this ad could only be appreciated with some knowledge about this technical supermarket chain SATURN.

PPS: everything packed already? ;-) . Have a good trip...

Yeah, Italian...such a beautiful language! I actually had a "behind the scene" reason for why I suggested to Chris to learn some French and | or Spanish ;-)

Indeed, but I will not concretize my views here, else Selden will lock this thread, too ;-)

Sure. I do not have pay enough attention to your "behind the scene", otherwise I shouldn't have replied.
