I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Extrasolar Visions website, at http://www.extrasolar.net. It's owner died several years ago, and since then, the site has begun to decay. The forum, http://www.extrasolar.net/forum/index.php experiences many bugs and glitches. Its members, myself included, have been on the look out for a new forum to move to, one devoted to extrasolar planetology.
I feel a candidate replacement has been found:
http://www.solar-flux.forumandco.com
I've modeled the subforums after those found at Extrasolar Visions, and if the members of Extrasolar Visions accept it as our new website, then I may set it up to resemble Extrasolar Visions as a tribute to J. Watmough.

Re: Candidate Extrasolar Visions Replacement
This might be a good idea as it looks like the site is basically locked as is and won't ever get an update. One thing to consider is possibly getting permission to clone the graphics and information sections but leave them open to upgrading as time goes by. I guess the site would belong to his wife now unless he was in a partnership with someone else, but I don't think he was. If at all possible, it might be worth broaching the subject with her as a tribute to her husband and also as as way to keep his work going. I am sure someone should be able to track her down and if asked the right way she may consent. I think enough time has gone by. So she be open to this.
Good luck and here is hoping you can pull it off.

Re: Candidate Extrasolar Visions Replacement
Since it's been a few years, I agree that perhaps John's wife would consider turning over the site to a new webmaster. You could tell her that you want to keep the site going in his honor. There is an email address on the site. Someone has to be doing something with hosting I would think. However his domain doesn't expire until 2013, so perhaps he paid for 10 years in advance... The site is hosted by Nexpoint (https://www.nexpoint.net/). Good luck. It would be nice for John's vision to be carried on.
