Greetings:
Downloaded Celestia v1.3.2 over the weekend. Nice package. Have a question.
I would like to view the motion of one body relative to another. For example, if I were to examine the motion of the Earth relative to the Sun I would see the planets orbit.
Specifically, I would like to view the motion of the sun (Sol) relative to Sirius and Sirius relative to Alcyone. Is this possible using Celestia. I don't see that it is with the data that comes with Celestia nor with any of the AddOns which I saw.
I do not know if such data has been or is being collected in modern times. Even if available it would go back only a few hundred years at best. Don't know if this would be enough to plot a path. The ancient Mayans, Incans and Egyptians have astronomical data which goes back millennia as do those who practice Buddhism, Hinduism and others. A possible source for data.
Your thoughts would be very much welcomed.

Unfortunately, Celestia does not model the long term motion of the 'fixed stars'. It does not show the Sun moving relative to Sirius or Alcyone.
The prereleases of Celestia v1.4.0 can show the orbits of stars that consist of multiple components, like Sirius and its companion, but that's not the same.
