NEW YORK (AP) ?€” Space Adventures, the company that has sent "space tourists" up to the International Space Station, is planning a new mission: rocketing rich people around the dark side of the moon.

heh I know that I'm knit-picking but..... I didn't know there was a dark side to the moon. ;)

Ah but you see, it's part of the scam. ;)

If the company can convince these suckers to expect to see the dark side of the moon, then it'll reduce costs of faking that trip to the moon. See? :)

Half of the Moon is dark: its night lasts for two weeks.

Dark side isn't for this lacking-of-culture journalist the hidden side of the moon ?

That does seem to be the most likely interpretation. *sigh*

The actual press release says "far side of the moon." See http://www.deepspaceexpeditions.com/section5-press.html

I'm sure some people at NASA are throwing hissy-fits!
There's no way they could get someone to the moon by the end of 2010.

I prefer the fact that private societies develop a space program rather than giant national space agencies with no program at all... Maybe I'm cynic, but NASA, ESA and others don't make me dream anymore... There is only abandonned projects... I think that space is the next frontier for humanbeings, but politicians who vote budget for these agencies can't see beyond the next elections... It's not a political opinion, just a reality...

Like Arthur C. Clarke, I think that the "agressivity" of our specie could be transformed into an energy which could be used for space colonisation...

Yeah I know the person who wrote the article was meaning "the far side". Its just that it seems everyone seems to inaccurately describe the far side as the dark side. ;)
