So Fomalhaut b was originally announced as a ringed gas giant planet, and that is how it is depicted in the current Celestia extrasolar planets files.

However since then there have been problems... latest seems to be that the object is probably far less massive than thought, and there might be an additional unseen planet acting as an outer ring shepherd. This inferred from the sharp edges of the dust ring and infrared non-detections of the planet.

I looked at it in both extrasolar.ssc and Celestia, and haven't seen any rings added to it. :?:

The point was more that it is rendered as a gas giant, rather than the rings themselves.

Rings are a poor fit to the data anyway, you need an optically-thin dust cloud.
