Some VERY wide binaries and implications for MACHOs

Post #1by ajtribick » 11.03.2009, 22:06

Quinn et al. (arXiv, 2009) "On the Reported Death of the MACHO Era"

Some very wide binaries listed, the widest being NLTT 16394/16407 with a separation of around 1.1 parsecs (3.6 light years)... the paper also notes that these systems have implications for constraints on MACHOs based on wide halo binaries.
