Most recent galactic supernova

It seems that a 140 years old supernova remnant has been found. Cool.

Interesting article! I like the image too... you can actually see the "bubble" defined in the composite image, my favorite being this one: http://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2008/g19/g19_xray_radio_nir.jpg This would make a nice 3D addon! *hint jll* :wink: :D

It would be interesting to make/animate a supernova for celestia athpugh i imagine it might be rather complicated, and im not sure if independent luminesent objects besides stars can be created.

Another question is whether supernovae should be represented as stars or as DSOs.
