Now there are new names for features on Mercury with a new theme of significant works of architecture for fossae names.

I found an entry for Pantheon Fossae at the Gazetteer of Planetary Nomenclature.

I've added the new Mercury locations to merc_locs.ssc. You can get the updated file from SVN at:
http://celestia.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/celestia/trunk/celestia/data/merc_locs.ssc

You will, however, need to use a Mercury texture that has been updated since the first MESSENGER flyby to see these locations as other than blank spots on the map.

There are 15 new crater names and the theme for montes are words from different languages meaning hot.

There are also very minor updates to locations on the Moon, Mars and Titan. (Two features each.)

Thanks. I'm surprised they haven't yet named the two new big rayed craters except for names like 'North Giant Crater' and 'South Giant Crater' for reference with radar studies like here: http://www331.jpl.nasa.gov/group8/mercvla.html
I went to Earth, zoomed in on Mercury with the ambient level up and set the time to the two dates shown to see that they were the same.

For what it's worth, I still very much like your old Mercury textures. You know, the 1K/2K/4K
images. I prefer these, even over the real data images, primarily because they are easier for
me to see.
