String theory

are there experiments that can prove it? Can there be? Does 5-12 dimensional space exist...can it be inferred?

As far as I know, there is no singular test to prove it one way or another. Hence the search for the equation to the answer of every thing, in general string theory(s) weather M-theory or F-theory, etc...

Our understanding of multi dimensional space comes from trying to figure out how we got here. at the moment, its just an incomplete theory backed up by an incomplete mathematical proof, the results fits what we see in the universe for the most part.

Its important to note, that even if we figure out solution, this will not effect anything in our present lives. It will not allow us to make better toast or anything, but what it will do is explain the ultimate fate of the universe, and how it began, in more detail. Possibly it might be used to create a lifeboat universe, but that for now that is more in the realm of science fiction.
