Might the sun be playing a role too, considering the rotation is retrograde?

I am fascinated by this planet. It is the most cruel of the entire solar system. Acid rains, huge atmospheric pressure, temperatures never under 500 °C, volcanoes, ravaging winds, and this strange day of roughly 243 earth days, even retrograde! The retrograde venusian day combined with the venusian year (225 earth days) leads to a distance dawn-to-dawn of 117 earth days, if I remember well.
And all we know about it's surface are a bunch of photos taken before that the probe Venera was smashed by the pressure. Amazing planet indeed!
