Biohazard

This Addon was inspired by the contest currently in progress on SciFi Meshes. The challange is to design a crate for an unknown highly hazardous material, with all model components and textures created by the submittor.

I think this Addon violates most of the rules of the contest, though, so I can't enter it. :)

Well, I guess that's one way to interdict a world... ;)

Love it Selden,

Far less draconian than the Vogon's solution!

Can I suggest a couple of improvements:
1. Make the Earth rotate inside the crate, instead of both rotating together:
2. Get the crate to "sit on it's base" at startup (ie. Labels right way up):

Code: Select all

RotationPeriod   1E12 #23.9344694 # 23.93419
Orientation [90 1 0 0 ]

PS. You should submit it to sci-fi meshes anyway. Just be up front about copyright so they can disqualify you from the start. (At least they'll get a good laugh from this)

That's very cool Selden. You should send it to Al Gore for his movie...

Telepath,

What would an Addon be if there weren't ways to improve it? :)

A few bent nails, unique nail patterns, several different wood patterns, different crate construction, several different languages on the signs... the list is endless. You'll note that the readme makes it public domain and that the model is 3DS, not CMOD: anybody can make any changes to it that they want. I have no further plans for it.

I did post it to SciFi Meshes, just not in the contest thread.

But here is an improved rendering by Anim8or. If only Celestia supported models casting shadows...
