Hi,

Any attempts I've made to locate an X-20 Dynasoar 3D model on the internet have failed, I was wondering if anyone had found or made one? If any ambituous soul would be willing to undertake a new add-on, blueprints can be found on several sights including this one on Wiki:

SBg,

Many people don't visit Shatters regularly.

I've found that one's own enthusiasm for a project often has to be enough. And taking a break often can result in a better final result.

Didn't seem rude to me...

Someone asked for help, then promptly forgot all about your offer. Happens
all the time with text communications. I, for one, would definitely like to
see the Dynasoar. So, if you wish some enthusiasm...

Hey ScyBladeghost, Could you PLEASE make us a Dynasoar model?
I, personally, would love to have a look at this early version of the
Space Shuttle. :wink:

Take care.

PS. I personally check in here every day, so you'll be hearing from me
again. :lol:

No problem here my friend...

Take your time and enjoy the process. If you don't, then it's not
worth doing. I'll be more than happy to wait until you are satisfied
with your model. :wink:

Except that's obviously not what happened. :roll:

Like Selden said, people don't visit here all the time. Heck, sometimes people can read posts but not write their own for some reason. It's rather unrealistic to expect enthusiastic replies or answers to questions the moment you post, or even within a day or two of you posting. Particularly when the poster is obviously a newcomer.

And usually it doesn't happen "all the time" with text communications. More often than not if someone makes a request (especially when you have to reguister on a board to do so) they'll remember it and check up on it.

Okay, I was wrong. Sorry. This has happened to me though. With so
many communications of interest here, it's easy to get side-tracked.

Do you mean actual model? 8O If so, I have no idea. :?

Will you be skinning it yourself, with "U.S. Airforce" on the side?

edit- Do you have any screenshots to show?? 8)

I'va made the whole package,with screenshots, the x-20 folder in my .zip goes in the extras folder in celestia, then fire up celestia and right click on the earth and choose spaceships and choose the x20 and hit the 'G key and whoomp there it is! the .zip is 302kb so I can e-mail it to whoever.

I even put an astronaut in the cockpit as well. :D

It has a relative orbit also.

its a working add-on, with an .ssc script.

like I stated its a complete file. with screenshots included.

I emailed the .zip to Brain Dead Bob, waiting for a reply.

Braind-Dead here...

I love the model, and the astronaut occupant was a nice touch. I did
notice, however, that the SSC file needs some work. The thing is flying
backwards.

Not to worry though. The model itself looks pretty good. Funny, I always
thought that it was an orange-red spaceship, but after I researched it a bit, I
found that your version is pretty accurate. I guess I always thought it was
red because I always saw artist conceptions of it re-entering the atmosphere.

Looks cool though. Thanks very much for the model. I'll see if I can figure
out what to do with the SSC, or maybe one of the geniuses here can figure it
out.

Basically, the model is just pointed the wrong way in it's travels. Needs
to be reversed. Here's the code from Mr. ScyBladeghost:

Code: Select all

"x20" "Sol/Earth"
        {
   Class "spacecraft"
   Mesh "x20.3ds"
   Radius 0.007                  #
   Beginning         2448007     #
   # Ending 2010?

   EllipticalOrbit {
   Period          0.06903
   SemiMajorAxis   6772
   Eccentricity    0.0012082
   Inclination      28.4675
   AscendingNode    61.0100
   ArgOfPericenter  30.0378
   MeanAnomaly     340.0836
   Epoch           2452028.18381755
   }

   Albedo       0.10
       }

Any thoughts?

Really nice model though... Do you mind if I convert it to a cmod?

Thanks very much...

If you have 3ds max or know someone that does just import it and rotate it 180 degrees and re-export it over the original.3ds that should fix it maybe.
cmod ,sure anything you need to do your welcome to change, glad you liked it
I had fun making it.

all the best :)
