New Messenger model almost done

I'm not satisfied with the extremely crude Messenger model found on the Motherlode. So I decided yesterday to work on my own representation model :

The model is about 85% done. It may not be very acccurate, so I need opinions, critics, etc, before releasing it.

I need more info (better close up) on the part indicated in red on the pictures below. I need photos about the real thing in space !

I'd suggest writing directly to the folks at Johns Hopkins, most likely the Engineering contact.

Hey, seems there is lot to see under the foil!!
What about a semi transparent one like my MGS?

It's not worth it. Too much work for nothing, and I much prefer to have a representation of the thing in space, as it should appear to a real observer out there. So I'm not interested in the internals.

Excellent work Cham. You're right, it's much better than the "crude" model I made.

Seriously though, real nice work. I can attest that there really isn't a lot of info out there on the probe to base a model from. You're best bet may be contacting the developers.

Here's the final version, that I should release here in a day or two. Click to enlarge.

Here's a link to my Messenger model. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Martin,

Added the model to my installation in the "extras" directory and it worked
like a charm. The model looks like it should, and the infoURL works like it
should too.

I did modify the ssc a bit, just to clean it up. Seems that I got some extra
characters in the code - probably due to Notepad vs Wordpad - but I simply
arranged it the way I wanted it, and it works just fine.

Thanks for this superb and improved model. Looks great.
