New pod model from 2001 ready to download

Hey guys, here's a very nice model of the 2001 pod ready to download. The original mesh was found on the lightwave web site :

http://www.lwg3d.org/v3/meshes.php

Jestr made a conversion to 3ds many months ago, but the model was abandoned because there was too much defects and holes. I successfully repaired it today and it's ready for Celestia. Here's a preview :

Here's a link to the model (sorry, there's a space at the end, you have to select it by hand) :

BEWARE The model is high resolution, and this isn't my fault this time ! ;-)

Hello Cham, thanks a lot for your 2001 Pod, it's wonderful! :D

I was thinking if you, or some other of Celestia graphic gurus, could take care of the very old shroxclassics Mercury and Geminy7 capsules, that are at least "crude" IMHO, but that are milestones in the astronautics history so should be shown in a better way.
Could you give a look?
Thank you whatever will be your answer.
Bye

Andrea, I plan to do revision of all important missions, but I'm also busy will real life work
So you will need patience for this. If you want things a bit faster, the best to do is to create and archive will all necessary picts for the new modeling... Those internet research are very time consuming and I really cannot do all at the same time...

Bye

ElChristou, I'll be pleased to give you my little help, searching for images and documentation in the Web, for both Mercury and Gemini. :D
Stay tuned, I'll make them available in a short time.
Moreover, if you need further information for other missions (just for an example, Skylab?), inform me, I'll do my best to obtain them.
Bye and thank you very much.

Good docs are for me:

1- General views covering all angles
2- Close-up on all important points, if possible also in several angles.

You can always prepare some pack of docs for whatever mission, but in all case you will need to be patient to get the final release... (look at the shuttle, it begun in may...)

ElChristou, obviously I'll search for documents as you requested (I've been an aircraft plastic modeller for 40 years, so I'm used to search for documents to improve the normally bad shapes and details of such models).
And, be sure, I'm a very patient man (at 60 you cannot be always in a hurry for everything!).
Bye and thank you.

Yes.
But this time I've been a bit in a hurry, I suppose, so I have almost everything ready for you, regarding Mercury Project.
I have:
A- 50 images, ready in a .zip file 5 Mb;
B- 4 original MCDonnell manuals, i.e.:
Maintenance Manual Dec 59, 37 Mb,
Familiarization Manual Nov 61- 29 Mb, May 62-29 Mb, Dec 62-22 Mb;
C- One .txt file with the 9 most important web links on the matter.
Sincerely I was hoping for a lot of images, but there are few ones, most of them terrible, and just some of them showing the details you need.
But I think that the manuals have almost all you need for the Mercury exteriors.
I can, if you like it, upload all to RapidShare, and give you the address where to download them.
Inform me, please.
Bye

Yes if you can do that, no problem...
I hope I will be able to decode the manuals :?

ElChristou, manuals are in plain .pdf format, so I think you should not have problems.
But if this will occur, I can try to extract them in .doc or whatelse format you prefer. 8O
Meanwhile I'll upload the files to RapidShare, and 12 hours from now I'll give you the addresses (max single file size for uploading cannot exceed 50 Mb, so I'll upload many zipped files). :?
Bye tomorrow.
