What Would A Wolf-Rayet Star Look Like?

Post #1by Tech Sgt. Chen » 23.07.2005, 17:18

I've been experimenting with Wolf-Rayet textures. All theoretical, of course. This texture is a concept based on the spectral type, luminosity and stellar wind speed extrapolations.

Hi guys. Listen, they're telling me the uh,
generators won't take it, the ship is breaking apart and all that. Just, FYI.

Looks really nice,

just hope chris will soon enable different startextures again.

In the other case i will just have to add the Texture command to my STC's.

Is it already done and ready for download or are you still working on it?

Regards,

No, unfortunately it's not quite finished yet. I'm trying to work a little more random uniformity (if that makes any sense) to the texture. Can you give me some pointers or, point me in the right direction about altering the STC (version 1.4.0) file to apply the textures? My time restrictions are astronomical (no pun intended) and resultingly, it takes quite some time if I have to figure it out for myself. I'm also working on a texture for red giants but, again, time restrictions make progress very slow. I do have some promising prototypes that I'm tweaking the colors for. Right now I'm working 12 hour night shifts 6pm to 6am and have to sleep all day. So obviously, things are slow! Thanks for the input!

A brief summary of the new STC parameters is at http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... eters.html
