A simple add on question
I'm making an add on of a planet that I am making up. Do I need to make a model of the planet, and if so, what should this model contain? SHould it just be a simple sphere and nothing else, or is it more complicated than that?

that depends. If you just need a normal sphere as planet you don't need to make up anything (3D-model).
If you want to know more about the necessary commands to create everything, go to the motherlode and get the SSC Guide from Adirondack, that explains very nice the parameters, that celestia understands and needs for the creation of planets
