Non-stellar Interstellar Objects...

Is there currently anyway to define an object in interstellar space, but not have it as a star or brown dwarf? For instance, suppose I wanted a rogue planet, asteroid, even a spaceship of some sort.

If it doesn't move, you can call whatever it is a Nebula and define it in a DSC file. This works for v1.3.2 final or v1.4.0 prereleases.

If it does move, you can define it in an SSC file and have it orbit around a Barycenter that's defined in an STC file. Barycenters are invisible and can orbit the galactic center, for example. To be most reliable, it should be within 16KLY of the Sun, otherwise sometimes it'll be visible and sometimes it won't. This works only in v1.4.0 prereleases.

p.s. if it's a complex 3D model, it'd be best to use the second option. Celestia doesn't properly depth sort the meshes of a Nebula.
