How do you build your own Solar System?

I've been playing around with Celestia, but I am unsure exactly how to script new bits into the Universe. How do you build you own Solar System? That's what I really want to do. The user guide that I downloaded only features commands that change the luminosity of stars that already exist and so on- so any help would be great.

Forgive me if I'm pretty stupid- I'm really bad at working things like this out. Can anyone explain simply how to do it from scratch? Or link me to a page or something?

Thank you for your time in advance.

Yes. I have. It seemed only to deal with adding expansions that someone else has written though, which wouldn't be much of a problem for me. I was interested in having assistance actually writing my own addons to build my own star system.

That sort of page is exactly what I'm looking for though.

Then you didn't read the first two examples carefully enough. They explain how to create a new star and how to create a planet orbiting around it.

There is a prohgram somewhere called StarGen it creates a random solarsystem.ssc file for about 30 stars if im not mistaken..
You can use that for training once you have such a ssc file you can start painting planets.
