RLVs

Anybody out there have the talent and the will to make some of the upcoming Reusable Launch Vehicles for use in Celestia -- like "SpaceShipOne" and the Japanese "Kankoh Maru" ?

I don't know very well those ships, so if you have some documents try to post them to have a look.

Spaceship One was the winner of the Ansari X-prize. See http://www.scaled.com/projects/tierone/

The modelling probably should include its carrier vehicle, White Knight.

FWIW, at least three people have posted images of 3D models of them on CGTalk. Perhaps one of them could be persuaded to make their models available in 3DS format.

Tx, Selden

Your adress show big part of the two ships (carrier and rocket) but I will need some others images...

It's not a very complicated craft, so I will do it, with a condition: I want that interested users provide me documents lot of documents... (in fact I don't have the time to do everything...)

So please people, team work...

Hello,

If you want a rapid result, (and if you have the time) please give me direct urls to images...
I really don't have time to browse entire sites... The page here show only 3 small images, this is a good starting point... but it's not enough...

Well, in fact I have began the model, but I still need some images...

Browsing internet is really not a big challenge you know, just time consuming...
So if you can find some images on some d?©tails of the ship, try to post here the urls...

No, Sym' has sent a screenshot of the SS1 addon in the SpaceFlight Simulator 'Orbiter'. He's right: it's a good sample of modeling for these crafts. Never understood how to convert the Orbiter .msh to Celestia .3ds or .cmod, if you discover that there are tons of nicely crafts in this prog that may be translated into Celestia -if the authors are ok for that :-)
Some little infos -with addresses of the very useful French forum- about Orbiter in the 'liens/links' page of my catalog.Jeam

Jeam Tag,

Tx, but I prefer creating my own models, cause I do them in much better r?©solution.... I will have a look perhaps for the textures...

Bye

Ps: .msh is not a part of 3Dmax format? (earlier version?)

You are right, and i'm waiting for the result. ...And sorry guys, i don't know how to translate the following words, i just wrote that Orbiter's models are interresting because of their multipart meshes, as infos about the crafts -or someting like this...
Ps: .msh is not a part of 3Dmax format? (earlier version?)
Don't know, i had just try some little modeling corrections for models found on line, with Anim8or, but modeling is not yet my job...some days, i hope.Jeam

.MSH is proprietary to Orbiter, just as .CMOD is proprietary to Celestia.

The program 3DStoMSH is used to convert from 3DS format, so the original 3DS versions of the models may be available from their authors.

Sorry guys,

I'm late with this model, but I hope to end this one in a while...
I had some trouble with the rendering in Celestia, and I'm testing others way of modelisation to have a perfect rendering...
