Just convert to a ssc., and place in the data folder. I use it with the very high Earth resolution

Thanks. Are those locations from a larger data file with the importances already calculated? If not, how did you calculate the importances? I'd like to calculate the importance for my own collection of locations.

In putting this together, I wasn't sure if similar numbered importances would conflict with each other, so I just went random - it seems importance determines when the name comes on the screen, so I tried to find a range where the name would come up when I was about 300 miles from the surface. Otherwise it got pretty crowded
..... In other words, I know just enough to be dangerous.....

So it might be a good idea to have beginning and end times for locations to show how the magnetic poles move. We could also use this to change the locations of features for the paleo earth maps.

I left the "type" as city, as I don't understand the geological terms enough to know which one to apply. That needs to be changed too

I understand the Earth's magnetic poles did some major flip-flops in the dim past. It would be interesting to see that animated
