Terraformed Venus

Post #1by rthorvald » 14.04.2004, 15:37

I have completed a terraformed Venus map - as a virtual texture, with max resolution at 8k (level 3), with a 4k nightlights map and a 2k cloudmap.

Here?s some screenshots from Celestia:

Actually I've tried to download the virtual texture twice now and both times it has been corrupted, can anyone else confirm this?

No, Marc, I dwled this pack easily last day, and the zip file was unzipped and seems to me that the textures run well. And of course, the simple textures (not VT) too (thanks for these version: when we have a poor old computer, it's a great thing to see great addon). It's a really good work, thanks Runar.. so I'll try to shoot some picts to add in my pages in a few days, with the link to download it) My two cents, Jeam

I tried a download myself, and it worked fine. Could be your browser or unzip utility reads the file just partially.

Try a different browser, or use Stuffit Expander to unzip (as i used Stuffit to zip it). If nothing works, i could open up a temporary ftp access for you - but send me an e-mail for that.

Ok, I'll give it another go with a different browser and unzip program. I tried it with winRar and mozilla firefox.

Dont worry there will be an OSX port one day Definitely by time it is playable, but there is a lot of work to do first and I don't own a mac yet.
