Hi to all..

One main project that i have in mind since i have done the Quebec or the US EastCost add-ons, was the Pyramids of Egypt..  I have done at the time the level5 Egypt add-on but i was missing a closer photo of the Pyramids so i can do higher levels..   So Happiness!.. :) This week, someone send me the link of a nice picture taken from the Space Station (again.. it was found on the earthobservatory.nasa.gov.. So many great pictures there)..  Anyway, this Pyramids photo was for sure easy to fit inside the Egyptian level9 VT (in 2048). I just have to rotate and resize the picture so any markers fit well the first time..

Now.. Just to say, that since this add-on was like my main goal project when i begin playing with the Blue Marble VT.. I guess that i will now take a little rest now.

2 photos was taken in an higher level so you can see the pyramid photo fit well inside the VT..

And again.. the photo of the Egypt area..

Now, how to get my files.. Still, the only way is on ICQ and Yahoo messenger only..
Sorry again, i don't send big files or big attachment in email..

Files are:
egypt-p1-(lvl5-hires-2048)-(tx_back).zip = 906,797K
egypt-p2-piramids-lvl6up-(last-lvl-hires-2048).zip = 2,251,195K

Also ready, i have a level5 of the MiddleEast area (just right to the Egypt area)..
middeleast-p1-(lvl5-hires-2048)-(tx_back).zip = 1,548,142K
Click the link below to see a photo of the area...

Well, it was fun doing this message.. :)
Nice day..  Jean-Pierre

You can only download the Hawaii texture at the moment via a website.

For all the other textures by Kinderino, you will have to contact him using ICQ or Yahoo Messanger to be able to receive them.

Kiderino
A website would be better, and more convienient, especially thinking of worldwide time differences. Maybe someone else might be willing to host them if webspace is a problem?
I've got about 30MB spare...... at the moment !

I know one things for sure (judging by how ICQ works after using it once  ), if you receive, let's say a dozen requests in one day for all your current textures, it is going to take up a lot of your time if you are going to supply them all 8O

Lucky me.. Not so many requests.. :)  Celestia is popular but not that much busy for me since not all people use the Blue Marble VT..    Until now, I have done all my files to 5 persons and just begin this weekend with 3 new persons (include you) like doing 2 or 4 files per day..    So patience have to be king for some of you.. Be sure that if more than 1 person was ask me to send files at the same time.. Having only a 56k modem, I do priority and do it in 2 or 3 days when i am around..

A Fact. 8) Right that when i offer in the forum, my first VT of New York to use in Blue Marble VT.. I have kind of TEST that offer to see how it will go, like 1 or 2 request per day, or more busy or very crazy for me!  So like if having 5 or 10 requests per day.. I guess i never offer other of my new VT i make in this forum.. But having 2 or 3 request per week (like it is now) is and was good at the time..

For sure i am near and end in doing other VT add-on of this kind.. I do those i have now for fun and for my own, earth's places, interests.. Happy for sure to have show here some more fun possibilities in using Celestia :D

Anyway... I still try to find a free web site with may be 5gig bandwidth, and where i can host files that are more than 1 meg to 4megs..  But such free hosting web site are rare to offer thes characteristics.. I have to say that 2 persons gratify me to host my files on their personal ftp..  But for now, i can't accept or say yes to use their disk space and bandwidth. Possible, i say yes someday since i guess their FTP won't be over downloaded.. But i have to wait for now and see..

Sooo, i am sorry :? to say again that for now ICQ and Yahoo Messenger is main place or program to use to get my files..

Nice day to all..

As i said in some other messages.. I can't or don't send anymore big files inside email.. Often thoese tranfers stop so i have to retry and also some big files are blocked or remove at the receiving server because the mailbox is to small or any other raison they tell me in their reply. So i lost 15 to 30 minutes minutes each time i try it in email.. I need my email service to be free for normal emails.. Anyway.. emails are for emails only i guess.. (well if i don't count those with attach spam or virus)

Sorry again, NO 2 or 3 megs files inside emails.. Try to use ICQ or Yahoo.. I already do my part a lot and i guess it is quite a big part that i do.. 8)

Nice day.. Jean-Pierre

Sending binary files via e-mail is not very efficient, because they typically end up being base64-encoded, so the amount of data you have to send increases by about 1/3. But depending on your modem it may compensate for that with the built-in compression...

Hi,

as long as the files aren't available on a website, we could purchase them in something like a download ring.

So kinderino could send one vt to one person, which sends it to another one and so on. Kinderino, what do you think about it?

This would make your vt's more popular and would help to avoid wasting your time and bandwith (I still can remember the times I had a 56K modem...).

Hello Dora..   In some way, it is what i do.. I send my files to at least 10 persons until now.. So I guess that 1 or 2 of these persons will distribute them on demand..  But i won't ask or suggest anyone that i send my files to do this..  Anyway, are we not on the "internet" presently..  Something will be done one of these days.. So to be patient for the moment is the way to think i guess!

P.S. Thanks Harry for your comment..
