I downloaded and installed your doctor who universe, very nice work.
I can see now why you have not been on the forums lately, you have been too busy coding in opengl and qt!

One little problem, you need to include the file qt-mt230nc.dll along side your executable.

For those who can't wait they I've put the dll here:
http://mostlyharmless.sourceforge.net/p ... t230nc.dll
Just stick it next to universe.exe where you unzipped the Doctor Who Universe.

Its actually my job...It consumes so much of my time I have to call in sick to work on anything anymore...But that has changed...Nothing is more important than ones happiness...And nothing brings me greater joy than creating what I was ment to...planets...There is something else greater than that but Ill leave that off these boards...It was also suffering...

The dll is also in the source zip...

Rassilion: thanks for the DWU, interesting work. But I had to download the dll from marcs link because there wasnt one included in your zip. Also some readme with usage instructions would be handy :)

Due to an oversight I forgot to include a readme...Hitting F1 will give you a general rundown of the navigation controls...

Hi Rassilon! :)
I downloaded you addon and the "qt" file, but in my PC at home I only see a window (non centered in the screen) with a picture on it, the hourglass and nothing else... :?
My PC has Windows XP Professional (Athlon 2.7+, 1GB RAM) and my graphic card is a Sapphire ATI 9600 with 256 MB 8O RAM onboard: Celestia works wery well with no problems, so I wander what is happening
FYI The window I obtain can only be killed by means of Ctrl-Alt-Del Task Manager that informs that the task is not responding.
BTW The "exe" file has the "small window" icon , the icon DOS programs use... It's strange. It seems that the file is corrupted
Now I'll try to reload the add on and then I'll tell you
Good bye
Pierluigi

Again here... :?
I downloaded again the addon  and the needed dll.
Again "universe.exe" has the "pure application" icon and when I run it (my PC at work is a Pentium 3 with 32MB RAM  with an ugly Trident graphic card 8O , and with Windows 98  ) I obtain:
- the usual "non centered" window with a drawing in it (Doctor Who Universe)
- and after some time with only the hourglass, the program complains with the well known Message Box indicating that UNIVERSE.EXE made a unrecovable error...

Have you any idea?
Thank you for your other great addons :D :D :D

Hi Rassilon!
I tested again this addon at home.
It's wonderful! :D :D :D
The only problem :? is that I am quite impatient when I run a program: with my 2.7GHz Athlon I always open programs in few seconds (even if my favorite Paintshop Pro 8O and Adobe pdf Reader :x sometimes take a long time to run...) but universe.exe require more than 15 seconds to appear!!! 15 seconds are a very loooong time during which you cannot understand what is happening...
So I have to be patient!
Sorry for the inconvenience...

BTW at office the program crashes, but the culprit is the infamous hardware involved
Good bye!!
Pierluigi

It unfortunately loads all the textures into memory before it runs...The faster your memory, and the more memory you have the faster it will open...This was coded in before I started changing things...In a future release I am hoping for an improved load time along with some other features...
