What sort of places are you looking for-the alien reactor was in 'Olmpus Mons' wasnt it.There was also a town called 'Venusville' I think. If you can find any good pics,I can have a go at making it.Cheers Jestr

The alien reactor was not in Olympus Mons. It was in Pyramid Mountain. I believe this puts most of the movie in the Cedonia region of Mars near the now defunct face of Mars. This is the only place that I know of that has mountains like pyramids. Besides the mountain in the movie was no where near the size of Olympus Mons and the wrong shape to boot.
The other thing is that there were 2 cities. I can’t remember the name or the bigger city were all the hotels and big shots lived but, Venusville was for all the mutants and the seedier characters was on he other side of the tracks, or tunnels in this case, as we say in the US.
All in all Total Recall was a very inaccurate portrayal of Mars and it was never meant to be like the real Mars. The surface was always in a perpetual twilight and rather dark and moody. Paul Verhoven did this intentionally to cast a dream like quality to Mars. This is because the whole story’s premises was based on, is it all in his head or for real. You decide. Just thought I would help get things set in the right direction. It helps to have the collectors DVD edition.

Thanx for the pictures,Don.I think I'm gonna get hold of a copy of the DVD and watch it through a couple of times. What do you think I should model? I was thinking of making a simple Venusville linked through tunnels to Pyramid Mountain, with the reactor perhaps, though if it is too detailed it would be slow and difficult to manouevre in Celestia and a long download.Anyone have any other suggestions ,let me know, cheers Jestr

Don suggested building the model in Cydonia-I was thinking Cydonia Labyrinthus you think this would be a likely site for pyramid mons ?The terrain looks suitable (at least as far as I can tell by looking at 16k texture),in the film there are big chasms and mountainous terrain-does anyone know if this sounds like 'Cydonia Labyrinthus'.Cheers Jestr
