Hi!
I started yesterday using Celestia and I am very enthusiastic. Today I found many addons for that great programm to improve it. But I do not know if all these Addons are compatible to each other or if they can screw up my version of the program. And it would be a lot of work to integrate new textures of every single planet or moon.
I would like to know if there are any update packs which contain more new textures and install them at one time? Or do I have to search and install them one by one?
Thanks for answers

PS: In the future it would be nice if "official" AddOns could be offered that would integrate automatically and would work for sure.
Newbie question about addons
Section 31,
Unfortunately (? ) Celestia has been changing rapidly. The form of Addons has had to change as Celestia's features have improved. There are many old Addons still available, but they have to be installed "manually" to be compatible with the current version of Celestia. Often the authors of older Addons have gone on to other interests.
Please take a look at the page http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/addon-intro.html. It explains much of the current environment. (Well, "look" may be the wrong term. "Read and study" might be better )
Most addons are individual objects. They take a long time to create and if they were all put together, they'd occupy many GigaBytes.
However, you might investigate Frank Gregorio's educational activity Addons. Most of them contain a collection of several different astronomical objects for Celestia. See http://www.fsgregs.org/celestia/.
Does this help?

Section 31,
There are too many of them to list them all here. However, here are a few places to start:
http://mikecelestia.bravehost.com/
or
http://mikecelestia.bravehost.com/index2.htm (skips flash intro)
http://arnaud.macron.free.fr/recherche.php
http://www.lns.cornell.edu/~seb/celestia/#2.2
I hope this helps.
