Hi there!

I have created a solar system generator that askes you for a star system then askes you for No. of planets and moons.

Options include:-

Inclination
Eccentricity
and size of solar system.

Random features:-
28 different Textures
radius and Semimajoraxis and more

with that you can download the textures as well that it uses.

I programed it with QuickBasic 4.5 the source code is included.

Enjoy.

Not bad...Might want to upgrade to Visual Basic since QBasic has a hard time with large text files...If you plan to add to this project...

btw some of those textures look familiar :mrgreen:

How does one make their own star database?

I want to create a solar system with two stars close to each other (about 0.25 AU) to create a dual solar system.

Any ideas?

Use emissive objects...They work the best...

Adding Emissive true to a planet and a very thick atmosphere and a star texture gives it the apperance of a star...

I cant download the files: when using IExplorer, it says that the page is unavailable, and when using Download Acelerator, it asks me for a password...

Hello, Ian, Celestians:
Very interresting stuff.
Little comments: your addon for asteroid creations is reffering to an 'asteroid.png' texture, witch is neither in your texture packs nor Celestia basic texture ones? Or i have lost something?

Ian,

On this forum (phpBB based) HTML code won't work if you put it into your posts/sig etc.

So instead of using

Code: Select all

<p>
<IMG src="http://www.geocities.com/ianmillar1982/images/icons/ic_main.jpg"
border=0 width="211" height="158"></a></p>

You should use

Code: Select all

Which will display
Image

However...
Unfortunately Geosucks won't let you outside link to your images, so I suggest getting a new free host for your stuff... There are loads out there!

If you want Ill give you 50 megs of free space on Celestialvisions to host your addons and webpage...Its far better than geocities...

For more details take a look at the site: http://www.celestialvisions.net/events.shtml
