It shall be done...

Hey everyone-

It's the ASTP!! :D

(And an *accurate ssc too!)

In 1975, at the height of the cold war, in a historic international event, Apollo 18 and Soyuz 19 docked. This model is of the 2 craft docked together, and the ssc runs from the time of the launch of Soyuz 19 (15th July 1975) to the splashdown of Apollo 18 (24th July 1975).

Download from http://homepage.eircom.net/~jackcelestia/ but check out some screenshots first...

The Apollo 18 model is taken from Shrox's Apollo CM + LM model, but the Soyuz 19 & the docking module are my own.

Enjoy! :D

*The ssc elements are converted from a TLE format, from this page: http://www.users.wineasy.se/svengrahn/t ... ntique.htm
Dunno how accurate they really are, but that guy does seem to know what hes talking about...

Jack, you are surprising me more and more, the quality of your work is outstanding, thank you.
My Space Conquest.cel is going to be a never ending story, because I cannot avoid to improve it continuosly, model after model.
Thank you again.

Nice one Jack, you're as quick as ever!

I also like your first screen shot - although if you could have shown it another 2 degrees further north it would have been even better

So the Soyuz caft really was green then?

Ah well... But on the up side, you can just about see where I live!

I think the Soyuz craft vary between greeny-blue, and bluey-green, depending on the year, model & photographer... That particular one is pretty accurate though because I found some true-colour photos of soyuz, taken a few mins before the docking- you can see it side on & close up!

Jack...I think you've got Soyuz exactly right...I think I read somewhere that Apollo was painted white for this mission...I will research.

Great job...bh.
