Yet another shuttle model from bh.

I'm afraid so. I found this model here:
http://vesuvius.jsc.nasa.gov/er/seh/sehvrml.html
It looks like they've been working on the same model we have.
More cargo bay detail, an improved nose profile and a few other improvements. I'm having a bit of trouble with the windows, they need the frames adding, the anti-dazzle patch and beefing up a bit.
And...
The model really needs a complete new nose section (beyond me) also a model of the manipulator arm (stowed and extended). I'm having trouble applying the textures I have to the radiators and cargo bay.
I'm usingDeepExploration and Anim8tor. Any tips here would be nice. Oh, It could do with some nice nasa type markings...Jack?
Anyway, I'll see how I get on during the week and maybe post a zip for anyone who would like to finish it off...I've just about reached my limit on the modelling front.
Regards...bh.

Another good job
Also if you find the "version update" feature of Deep Exploration
(in the tools drop down menu)
it will start a 2.1 update download,
I did it, and it works well

Here's a taster of how it's going so far...
Still quite a bit to do. I may be able to get some markings on it too!

Feel free to steal the us flag & nasa logo from my shuttle if you want... The wing looks to be angled the same so you shouldnt have much trouble rotating them etc... (I got the US flag from Shrox's apollo 11 model anyway..)
How about making this shuttle Discovery, for the Ulysses & HST deployments?

Thanks Jack...I think I'll make it 'generic' untill the model is finished. I'll have a crack at making a new manipulator arm.
Some more textures to add. I've used your nasa markings from your adaptation and will add some more...so far...
zip coming soon...regards...bh.

Well...here it is...I think I will keep it 'generic' until it's got it's Canadarm fitted.
You can get it here:

I hope you like it!...bh.

Hello...does anyone know where a model of the Canadarm lies?...I've searched and searched. I looks as though I'll have to make one (gulp!).
Might need some help with this.
Anyway...I hope you like the new version of the shuttle. I'm more than a little obsessed with this vehicle!

Well I might go off and re-populate my extra solar planets now. At last! No I'm wrong...
If all goes well CSA will get back with at least a drawing!!!
This has been going since Feb this year (before the disaster).
Come on guys...let's finish it.
Regards to all...bh.

Yes, i like your work on the textures, more and more realistic, 'Bh'...
Even on my old computer, it works fine.
What's the matter about Canadarm?

If you continue like this, soon the NASA will require you to design for them...

Hello...many thanks for your comments on this one. It was the only model I wanted to do, and it was some time coming (sorry).
Still no reply from CSA (Canadian Space Agency). If anyone out there would like a crack at modelling the Canadarm then please do.
I will have a go to myself but I'm not good at scratch building stuff yet. Maybe one for Jack!

ohhh... I'm under pressure now!!
I might do something if I can find some pics... It doesn't have to be really detailed though does it? It's easy enough to make a few cylinders & joints & rotate them into place etc..

Jack...no pressure at all. I would like to try this model myself, but I'm not good at it.
I've loads of reference pics of the various parts but I thought there maybe one already built we could use.
CSA said they would send me something...I'll wait for that. I'm pleased the way it's turned out anyway.
Many regards...bh.

Hello bh
I'll have a look at this Canadarm for you if you want? There seems to be loads of pictures on the Canadian Space Agency website for the latest 'Canadarm 2' which I could use to work on the model;
http://www.space.gc.ca/asc/eng/csa_sectors/human_pre/iss/canadarm2/canadarm2.asp
BTW Fender Jazz 1962, MusicMan StingRay 1977, Aria SB1000 fretless 1980. Fullers ESB anytime!!
This is interesting, I shall now add my details;
Air Guitar 1986-89 especially to Rush,Black Sabbath and Anthrax - ah college days! Timothy Taylors Best or Landlord anytime - hey, Madonna really knows a good pint!!!! (Guinness and Murphys aint bad either)

Hello TERRIER... go ahead with the Canadarm if you want, I probably won't get round to it. I've had a go and it's looking...crappy! My modelling skills need more ESB!!...
I think the Canadarm2 lives on the ISS.
Many regards...bh.
Oh yes...and a Squire Precision.
