The Hill's Star Map

Hello

I want to recreate the alien star map that Betty Hill claimed she took from an alien. According to Barney and Betty Hill, they were abducted by extraterrestrials in a rural portion of the state of New Hampshire from September 19 to September 20, 1961. In 1968, amateur astronomer Marjorie Fish tried to find which star is which, assuming that one of the fifteen stars on the map must represent the Sun. The result is this:

To examine the map a little better, I tried to make it as a constellation. This is the code:

There are 2 questions now. First, why I can't see the map? Is there something I'm missing? And second, where is Gliese 59? I can't find it in Celestia.

Gliese 59 goes as HIP 7235 in Celestia.

Use the celx script included in this small addon. It will draw the Betty Hill map in Celestia 1.6.x.

On my computer running Celestia v1.6.1, Cham's Addon shows the map as dark lines and dots against a light-colored background. (It shows most but not all of the stars of the original map.)

After installing the Addon (unzip it into your extras folder) you can first use this URL to go to an appropriate viewpoint:

cel://Follow/Betty Hill/2019-07-05T00:06:56.04578 ... f=1955607&lm=1040&tsrc=0&ver=3

This should cause Celestia to show an empty white window.

Then invoke (select, double-click-on) Cham's CELX script Betty_Hill.celx

You can then use your favorite Celestia commands to change the viewpoint.

Initially you should see something like this:

It works now, it was my point of view which was bad.

I now very well this 'project', and I studied it since 1982 with the book 'the interrupted journey'.

Here is my screenshoot with the cham's cel from 58 Eri.

The twice pictures are near the release of Marjorie Fish but bad because 2 of 3 of stars are misplaced (kappa for and gl 86.1 (hd 13435)).
