new fictional Alpha Centauri

hello, I am working on to create new planets, moons, asteroids etc.....
I am even creating a fictional story that alien species have leaved Alpha Centauri and moved to our solar system on Saturn's moon Titan, and the aliens have terraformed it. You will even get the map of Titan.
I will even create planets in Alpha Centauri B, Alpha Centauri A is under construction
hope to get the mod released very soon

Looks interesting. Especially the alien ship.
But I would suggest to alter the Titan texture more. From the picture you provided I first thought it was the Earth, with a viewpoint on Africa. Perhaps you could either change the huge desert (perhaps with a green belt to the north?) or try to break up the outline more. So, it doesn't resemble Africas outline so much.
Second suggestion concerns the atmosphere of Titan. That will probably be more tricky to tune. If Titan is terraformed, the orange color should vanish and turn to an earthlike blue (if 100% turned into a sister of Earth). Or perhaps just strongly reduced if it is not 100% terraformed.
Best regards,
Guckytos

You might also consider improving the rings of the Alpha Centauri planet.
(what are the odds that two planets, separated by 4.3 LY, would have identical ring systems?)

kristoffer,
Any paint program should be able to do it. If you're using Windows, Paint.net is free.
Another option to consider would be to colorize a current map of Titan.

the program on paint.net requires 64-bit windows and I have 32-bit.

Paint.net works fine on 32 bit computers. 64 bit support is optional. If you're having problems installing it, contact them on their forum at

This really isn't a paint forum. You might consider going through some of the tutorials to learn how to use the paint program of your choice. They're available on many Web sites.
However, you can use the "color picker" to select a pixel which has the appropriate color. That color will become the default color used when you paint. The picker is usually one of the options in the paint program's main on-screen menu window, along with area selection, pen type, draw box, etc.
p.s. Since you're trying to create a fictional planet, getting the colors *exactly* right isn't essential. There are various ways you can justify any particular choice. For example, the exact shade of green is determined by what plants are growing in an area. They don't all have the same pigmentation.

I think what the others are saying, is that take a texture of Titan and color it like this-
Took me about 10 minutes to do this. With more work and tweaking it could look much better.

Since I made Celestia's original Titan texture above, here is an old joke from 2 years ago:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13718&p=114617&hilit=titan#p114617Recognize this florishing world with green meadows and blue rivers?

Just a little GIMP makes everything habitable...

Fridger
PS: Of course, for the above Titan landscape I've used the ingenious GIMP coloration tool that John also mentioned. I really don't know why this Windows-only program Paint.net is recommended, while most local texture experts use GIMP. As an immediate advantage, image manipulation newbies in this community could get much more direct (tutorial) hints from the local GIMP experts...

Titan could not get liquid water? In real If you terraform and change the atmosphere, It is possible for liquid water. that is what we are planning for Mars.
here can you read little information on NASA:
http://quest.nasa.gov/saturn/qa/moons/T ... _Titan.txtthis place saying that Titan have the ingredients to support life, but now is if frozen, like the ice volcanoes who is been found.
