Help from Russian Folk needed!
Hello guys,
As the title said it all, it would be great if someone reading russian could help to find out a detail needed to complete the model of Zvezda for the upcoming ISS model I'm building.
Here the actual state:
Some stuff are still missing, but my main problem is the articulation system of Zvezda panels; ideally I would need or a very good close up of articulations between the elements of the panels and the one between the panel and the body of the craft, or a diagram or blue print or any other doc where we can see how it works.
If someone is able to find this detail that will guarantee a good level of accuracy for the model...

Re: Help from Russian Folk needed!
I wish to add to Christophe's announce that a ground extension test of one solar panel was performed, probably at at Zvezda's factory, S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia, but I found no images.
Perhaps our Russian friends should first try along this direction...
Thanks a lot for all the very welcome help.
Bye
Andrea
ADDED LATER:
searching again for this, I found a link, here:
http://spaceflightnow.com/station/zvezda/build_qt.html
The caption says:
"Manufacturing the Zvezda module" SPACEFLIGHT NOW DIGITAL VIDEO- Posted: July 9, 2000.
One of Zvezda's power-generating solar arrays is unfurled in a factory test as the module is constructed in 1998. Narration provided by NASA's Mark Geyer, manager of ISS program integration. Source video: NASA TV (265k, 29sec QuickTime file)".
The video is very small and short, anyway it gives a nice side view of the completed Zvezda, but the solar array deployement test is missing, dunno why.
The solar-arrays test is so confirmed, and perhaps a Russian link may have the full footage movie, I hope!

The shuttle is "upside down" relative to the ISS.

Current Setup:
Windows 7 64 bit. Celestia 1.6.0.
AMD Athlon Processor, 1.6 Ghz, 3 Gb RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics

The shuttle can dock in both position. Anyway at this point it's an irrelevant detail as the whole model is still in heavy duty and the shuttle and other details will be addons of the addon...

Hmmm... I can't recall any russian regulars here.
Model looks great though Chris... too much for my meagre system methinks!

There are some...
Yep I fear for the mini it will be harsh... Anyway there is still quite some work to get it as light as possible, so even if you will not be able to fly through at high FPS, you should still be able to look around and get nice screens...
For the little story, I had to wait almost three years to do it because my previous laptop was enough powerful to even build it... My present config is fine to do it, but within Celestia...

Hello.I'm from Russia,i think i can help you.Contact via ICQ
Here's some info about Zvezda:
Mass 19 tonns.
Length 13,1 meters.
Width (with solar batteries) 29,7 meters.
joining docks = 3.
windows = 14.

No way to use the forum? I'm not a ICQ user...

As mentioned in the first post the problem are the articulation of the solar panels... The best for me would be images during assembly or blue print showing the mechanism...
Re: Help from Russian Folk needed!
Ok.I will try to find blue prints later. Here are images i've found for now.

Hey, despite general views don't help much for the detail of the articulations, you have here a missing detail I was looking for; the painting of both name and Russian agency! Cool!

Have you watched at http://www.the-blueprints.com/ ?

This one is great, even if I am almost done with the rear part...

Tx, I didn't knew...
For info here is the aprox state of the model. Some missing stuff on this screen have already been added, but still my problem are the panels with the part I put in red circles... (and of course, ЗВЕЗДА is missing...)
Re: Help from Russian Folk needed!
Look at that.maybe it will help you.(it's not Zvezda)

Did you see this PDF file on nasa site?
