Nebula model help for addon

Ok, the Regula-Mutara addon is coming along nicely.
1 problem, as you can see from the picture below I am haveing troubles with how the nebula comes out.
I am using a dsc file for it right now, hence the transparency and seeing the spheres inside. I am also trying to get the feel of clouds inside the nebula itself.
If I use a cmod, without illumination maps-some areas are just way to dark, because of the sun shine and shadows-with illumination maps (even with illumination set to 0.050 in anim8or) it comes out way to bright.
I bet I have made 50 different models and configurations with no luck.
The other pic is one I really wanted to use, but it really looks like sh** inside another model.
Any ideas?
