I have found yesterday a very awesome model usable in celestia on this page

http://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/3d_resou ... i-res.html

This model is very detailled but include many configurations with 37 separate meshes !
Some meshes are duplicated with panel open or closed but then i try to put them together it result a very confuse model

A picture is furnished but it is confuse because the meshes are not realist onthe picture

Someone can help ?

Happy new year !

Linuxman,

This site may help to identify the parts and their locations: http://www.chron.com/mm/iss/

Hey, interesting! I'm presently doing some preliminary works for a fully optimized model for Celestia so this one will probably help a bunch! :D

Please note that this site also details the construction history and future plans for the ISS, so rather than just melding them all together into a single model, this could be a good opportunity to make use of these separate meshes in conjunction with Chris' timeline code, to show the development of the ISS as it occurred/occurs.

I assume that's what you plan to do, but thought it worth a mention, just in case.

Hmm... looks interesting. It also looks as if there are some textures missing... I wonder if these can be translated from the earlier model?
I have Anim8or but the network to the mac is not working and my win box is offline... grrr.

I will test a first release on XP and package it soon.
I can't find the fps key on my mac keybord on linux.

It is about 13MB in 3ds or 48MB for the cmod meshe.

Yes i want to do separate meshes as soon as i can but i have more work to have a correct construction.
If Someone could help for the timeline ... (timeline don't work on 1.51 no ?)

YOU CAN DOWNLOADTHE FIRST RELEASE to test it.

I have this quickly and lot of corection have to be done like solar panel position and textures.
A temporary ssc file is furnished but you can use the "replace" command ,if not modify your spacecraft.ssc file
You can find 3 meshes:
iss.3ds 13MB
iss.cmod 48MB

orlannr3.3ds ( a cosmonaut is furnished to run easy around the station)
It's below:

Linuxman, the model is not that cool for Celestia. I'm presently building one that will be a bit more accurate and much lighter. The good point of this model are the textures, and particularly the normal maps... (if you see what I mean!)

Wow...

That is one detailed model. I downloaded Linuxman's version just to
see what it would do on my system, and it displays itself just fine on
my Vista machine. It does take a while for all of the textures and
model components to load into Celestia, but the end result is beautiful.

Looking forward to Christophe's optimized version.
Thanks very much for this add-on. Very cool.

Take care, Bob

I have seen some pictures with a box on the canadian arm but,
I am searchinq informations about this canadian arm, on my pack, he his not correct

Here i ha find this hight r?solution picture:

Can you run easy this model on your computer ?

Linuxman,

the textures are all messed up on your model. The model itself runs fine on my system, but the textures are badly mapped.

Hello

That slows significantly my computer. But the level of detail is awful.

On my computer it run between 25 to 30FPS with very 85MBdds texture for for earth, moon , mars and clouds.
For the texture i don't resize them for the moment, some of them have a 1600 x 800 resolution.
Original texture for the master solar panels are very good if you have a closed view i will try to map the reverse side
They furnished bumbmap, reflective map and specular map, can theese map be used in celestia?
I try to associate bumpmap and normalmap with gimp ( for node 1 and columbus as you see in the last picture )
I have not have a look for optimisation of theeses model, for the moment i try to assemble them corectly.
If there is million of polygon to delete, i will not have this courage...
Waiting for your model as Bob

Hello bob !

These next days i have to do and place corectly the separate meshes for ISS ,and if my friend Gilles could finish some calculation for my Gagarine pad and will try a first pack for this other addon.
I'am searching information on the canadian iss armcause i'am in total confusion about this if someone can help ..
I like to make a good texture for white tissue covering some of the elements assembled iss.

Hello cham:
Mapping texture is not my speciality, i just change the name of the original texture to be corect for the moment i have just map the ATV model with esa texture and the JEM.
Thank tou to have testing this model, do you use cmod model ?
