Exactly what is the name of the Zip file you downloaded and where did you get it?
Which version of Celestia are you running?
What type of computer, graphics hardware and operating system are you using?
Unfortunately, none of the Quasar Addons can work with Celestia v1.4.1. They work fine with Celestia v1.3.2 and Celestia v1.5.0pre4. Celestia v1.4.1 does not draw galaxy labels or Nebula objects when they are beyond a certain distance. These bugs have been corrected in the subsequent prerelease versions of Celestia v1.5.0.

If you do not change the names of any of its catalogs, the file on the MotherLode which is named
quasars.zip is supposed to display the quasars as many individual dots: all of the quasars are named "."
When you select the URL named "View Quasar Labels" it enables Galaxy labels. You should see the Celestial Grid and many tiny blue dots which are the "." characters.
