Starcraft Add-on

I have just an idea to create a StarCraft addon to the Celestia. With support of all the best known planets (Aiur, Char, Shakuras, Korrhal etc.), some special spaceships (Hyperion, Gantrithror, Norad II). Since I will find a good and freeware planet texture generator, I will be able to create the textures for myself. I am also able to create the SSCs and STCs.

But I need YOUR assistance to create meshes- for spaceships or Zerg aerial monsters that may appear in space.

And finally: what is your opinion about an idea of Starcraft add-on?

Any idea is ok but most important is the result...

Off topic, haven't you seen that there are several forums with different topics?
For example, if you want to talk about textures, you post in... Celestia textures!
If you want to talk about scripts, you post in... Celestia scripting!

Now, just guess; if you want to talk about addons, you must post in... ?

And in description of this forum it is said that here we could talk about idead of creating an add-on. Am I still wrong placing it here?

This topic isn't in the proper thread. It should be transfered to the "addons" section.

I don't understand you. The desc says "discuss creating add-ons". I have an idea on add-on and want to discuss it.
But if you are still thinking that this is a wrong place, move this thread.

Well, actually, you are right. Sorry. But I still think addons projects should be described in the "add-ons" section. Maybe there is some confusion in the thread descriptions... Nevermind.

To me it seems like the add-on forum was to place completed add-ons, and this- to place discussion about ideas of add-ons.
Yes, nevermind.

Opinions about the idea? Would you help me?

Sorry, no. I'm too busy with other things, and since Celestia is dying anyway, I'll not involve myself in any new addon creation until Celestia's development restart.

Whatever...this board is certainly NOT meant for add-ons
about

-- StarCraft (what is this actually? NO TV series or WEB fan pages, please. I am allergic to that) ,
-- with support of all the best known planets (Aiur, Char, Shakuras, Korrhal etc.)

What?

--some special spaceships (Hyperion, Gantrithror, Norad II).

He? NASA or ESA?

-- Zerg aerial monsters

My God!!

I think the only sensible reaction to this "invasion" with Zerg aerial monsters and related crap is to suspend Celestia development indefinitely ;-)

Starcraft is a PC Game by Blizzard. Norad II, Hyperion or Gantrithror are warships of Terrans or Protoss, two of the Starcraft races. The third is one is the insectoid Zergs- these aerial monsters.

Nice comments, t00fri :D But I already thought that everyone knows, what is StarCraft...

I have moved this thread to the Addons forum.

I'll update the subtitle for the Development forum shortly.
it should have been changed when the Addons forum was created, but it was overlooked.

If StarWars add-ons and StarTrek, why not StarCraft?

Any Add-on projects with "Craft" in the title must go to the Add-on department ;-)

Xio, don't listen Fridger , you are free to do whatever addon you want! Just go on with your Starcraft addon, and show us some nice piece of textures and models (you can learn if you don't now how to handle 3D).

Just a detail, I don't know much about Starcraft, but I remark something odd in your first post: you say "Zerg aerial monsters that may appear in space". Because their name (aerial -> air), I was wondering how they could appear in space without dying immediately... I mean if they are monsters, they don't have enough IQ to develop any technology, so... how do you explain this? 8O

LOL, I think that monsters are very often extremelly intelligent creatures, but lacking some "moral plug-ins" in their brain(s). :)

What is a "monster", anyway ? Paris Hilton is certainly a kind of monster too, isn't ?

I think it is a question to Blizzard... Mantis Screamers from StarCraft are (in definition) aerial, but they somehow could travel in space. I don't know, it's one of the most illogical points of StarCraft.

T00fri is a Fridger?

Well, monster, in my opinion, is a big bad thing. No, Paris is relatively to small IMO.

No, Fridger is a T00fri, a kind of smart creature from outer space !

Depends on who you're talking to. She's certainly a huge nasty monster, for the ants (and some small pet dogs too).

Well done! I agree. Less confusion on what add-ons account for.
