Intro To My Self and My Purposes

Post #1by gccradioscience » 19.02.2007, 17:23

Hello,

This is Adam E, I downloaded the Celestia program, and its a good program to use for astronomy teachings and for radio sciences. I have a problem here when I tried to install the Add Ons, I did not know where certain files go to. Can someone give me some information on what file extensions are and what folder do they belong to to make the program work normal and stable. When I put in the add ons in the right folders by matching the other files the program crashed on me. I would like to learn more about adding add ons to get the most out of my program. Also to save Hard Drive space can I burn this program on the CD-RW and use the CD-ROM drive as a storage for the program? Or maybe put it on a flash drive to save Hard Disk Space. Please let me know thanks.

You might consider reading the Web page
http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/~seb/celest ... intro.html

The first section explains what kinds of files need to go into which directories.

Celestia should run from either a CD-ROM or flash drive. However, Cel://URLs may not work, since they depend on the program being installed in a particular directory.
