Alternate Possibilities

Hey...

When one declares an alternate texture, I know that one may include within this alternate bump, specular, and night maps. Under that same "AltSurface" declaration, can one specify a different set of atmospheric parameters as well? How about haze?

**sighs** And now I can't get the AltSurface to work. Here's my ssc for it:

Code: Select all

AltSurface "Pre-Terraformed Corona" "Iota Piscium"
   {

   Texture      "Corona-alt.jpg"
   BumpMap      "Corona-alt-bump.jpg"
   BumpHeight   3.5
   SpecularTexture   "Corona-alt-spec.jpg"
   SpecularColor   [ 0.5 0.5 0.55 ]
   SpecularPower   25.0
   }

It is the same as one that I have used in another add-on, save that the names and textures have been changed. But the AlSurface option doesn't even show up in Celestia when I right-click for it. Any thoughts?

Did you put the extra return at the end of the ssc?

You probably need to upgrade to Vista... it may/maynot help.

Buggs... YTup, I have the extra return. No joy.

bh... My OS shouldn't have anything to do with it. Alternate textures have worked for me before, as far as back as my machine which ran 98. They definitely should be working under XP on this new machine.

It's a puzzle; but it'll have to wait, since I got back from work late and am absolutely wiped out tonight!

I take it back... I made a little time to look into this problem. It's amazing what you can see when you're completely exhausted....

I had left out the full "path to body" declaration. :roll: Wow, what an elementary mistake on my part....
