Some of the add-ons John Dollan and I have been working on are now available at the Motherlode;

Twilight (from the Orion's Arm Universe)

Here is a Dragonfly class antimatter-drive ship in orbit around John's new version of Twilight, Omicron 2 Eridani A b

Here is Twilight; a tidally locked, Earth-sized world, it has one hot, desert-covered face, and one cold, ice-covered face; between is a narrow strip of habitable terrain.

Here is John's new version of Shadows, a gas giant in this system; the light from electrical storms can be seen on the cloudtops. In the background can be seen the red dwarf and white dwarf companion stars, Omicron 2 Eridani B and C

The add-on for various ring shaped habitats in the Orion's Arm Universe is also available.

Here is one of the Bishop Rings, Manaus;

and another version, a desert ring (Elsirac)

Information about the Bishop ring concept can be found on my page about rotating habitats here

----------------

I took the opportunity to upgrade the Banks Orbital models in the OA Universe as well...

Unfortunately these ring models don't look so good in the new Celestia v1.5 , as I made them a few months ago; but they look pretty good in older versions. The new specular reflection settings make the old models look too shiny.
Oh and the Cel:URLS don't work quite right in the new version too.
I suppose I'll have to make yet another version for the new build of Celestia...

Finally I have made a model in 3D of a real-life nebula;
The Boomerang Nebula
http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/creat ... erang2.zip

Here it is, at approximately the angle we see it from Earth;

and here it is from another angle

and here is the image I used as a reference;

It looks very neat. I did see a little bit of an issue though. There's a bit of a blue edge, on the border of the texture. Here's a screenshot pointing out what I'm describing:

Otherwise I love it. It's very pretty.

Oh yes; if I ramp the contrast way up I can see that too.

Strange, isn't it?

You have to edit the texture in order to get rid of the blue edge.
It can be clearly seen with other image viewer on the left side from top to bottom and a small dot on the right side.
There is no need to modify the 3D model just the texture

Thank you; I'll amend it and send the correction to the Motherlode.
