Ok, you are the boss, so let's stop here.
But what a pity, I found some veeeery interesting Saturn images...

Well, now that Chris, Linuxm@n and Gilles are satisfied with the documentation gathered up to now, I have some spare time, so I'd like to show you strange things I found in my digging the net in the search of Apollo docs.
This is the first:
http://www.spaceaholic.com/index.htm
If you go to the links at the bottompage, you'll discover that the author, Scott, is a collector of Apollo spaceflight unflown spare parts and artifacts.
So you'll see that he owns the "Saturn V S-II Second Stage Hydrogen Vent Valve Assembly" (image on left )

Image and the Image

"Apollo Command Service Module Fuel Cell Powerplant" (image on right )

BTW, there is a flourishing market of space junk and objects, stamps and medals flown with the astronauts, and images signed by astronauts, as you can see here in the web page of Leon Ford's collection:
http://www.leonford.com/ in the links on top, like this Apollo 14 medallion:

Image

If you should wish to buy such kind of memorabilia, it's better to go to this auctions page:
http://www.astro-auction.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.pl
where you can find a lot of very interesting things, or here in ebay's page dedicated to space memorabilia,
http://collectibles.listings.ebay.com/H ... ngItemList
Hope this may be of interest for you.
Bye.

Yep... and now I'm not in mood to redo the lost part immediatly...
In all case this is not very important, seems Gilles and Linuxm@an will need a good time to release the first tests...

Chris, from your situation report given in your first post, I see that the splash-down modelling is at 40% only, so I thought to give you four new images of the CM after splash-down, like this very detailed one:

Image

Please note how the CM surface is badly strained and faded, in contrast with the clean, crisp, new-looking red rubber boats, the rescue one (with frogmen) and the safety one, all around the CM .
Together with these images, in the file S-IVB-exterior_plus_splash_down.rar that you can find here:

http://nho.ohn.free.fr/celestia/Andrea/ ... h_down.rar

there are many images of the S-IVB module external shape, plus a drawing here:
http://www.apollosaturn.com/satsivb.htm

showing many details of the same module, e.g. the exact number of S-IVB FWD and AFT skirt stringers! 8O
In this page:

http://www.apollosaturn.com/stage3.htm
you can find more images of external details, like this one:

Image

Hope this helps.
Bye soon

Some news on the calculation program: Calculations are very complex for a lunar epedition and my friend Gilles Mor?©re was about to give up. Yesterday I saw functioning the program, we could make a perfect liftoff of rocket with all the stages of a true takeoff (it was done with the N1 Rocket but it is exactly like Apollo). The fall of the stages is shifted a little but we are on the good way. The rocket which takes off (in xyz) is with 30m circular orbit that it must join. Then it is necessary to connect this orbit to that which goes on the Moon.

For the landing on the moon we have a correct one but it was a chance we have done this manually .

Nothing on the liftoff from the moon for the moment...

This give very long ssc files, each movement ( fire engine, rotation, acceleration, gear landing open and close) is a new ssc file

I have make separate vessel with your pack El Christou, have you made fire engines ? And landing gear open.

If we have a first liftoff from the KSC iwill inform you quickly

Today Gilles will work more and more and i hope to have good news...

Good work El Christou

All these sound as very good news, Linuxm@n, even if I understand the difficulty to reproduce faithfully a so comples tour.
So, many thanks to you and Gilles for the precious effort.
I offer again my help, so if any further information is needed please inform me, I'll try my best to find what you need.
BTW, have you got some screenshots of the tests you made for Saturn lift-off and LEM landing on the Moon?
IMHO it would be very nice for Celestians to have an idea of what will be the final release, and the possibility to follow step by step the process of reaching the final goal. :o
Bye

Ok, to play a bit more, here the landing scene test; nothing is right here, the ground is just 100% fake, it's just a test. Even the LEM here is an old version, some meshes are missing, some are wrong etc...

Linuxm@n, you can perhaps use those models to test the landing. I'm thinking in doing various models for the gears opening to simulate an animation; do you think it's feasable?

Well, just for the couple (no more!) lazy Celestians that prefer to wait for the final release, here are four images of the actual situation regarding the LEM on the Moon (and, beware, meshes missing or wrong, old edition, etc. etc.! 8O ):

Image Image Image Image

The images are small and lo-res to reduce their weight, but be sure that the originals are very nice.
Please give a look at the 3D ground, but remember, it's not the real one, as will be in the final release!
Bye to the next ElChristou's show.

Guys, this pack is more for Linuxm@n to continue his test... You are free to load it but feedback is useless because as already say all this is good for trash!!
